1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of every government office. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve them on request, conduct official checks, or file forms.

Its content directs readers to Stokes County custodians, including the sheriff and clerk, as well as the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and North Carolina Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also display tools operated by outside companies.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

• Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
• Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
• Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
• Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. North Carolina places specific limits on misuse of North Carolina Sex Offender Registry data. The registry exists for public safety awareness, not retaliation, vigilantism, or an unlawful decision about a listed person.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

Any regulated screening must be obtained from a lawful, FCRA-compliant provider using the process required for that purpose.
